Tips for a Successful and Memorable Cruise
Be sure to block all four hours out FOR YOU!
- Prepare in advance! Decide where you’ll be during the four hours of the Virtual Cruise. Find a babysitter. Let your family know you’re taking four hours off. Turn off your phone. Don’t answer email. BE PRESENT. Treat yourself to some time to recharge and refresh with your Pink Sisters.
Remember that your webcam is on!
- We’d love to see your beautiful faces throughout the Virtual Cruise! But please temporarily turn your webcam off if you need to eat or engage in private behavior (changing your clothes, scratching your armpits, picking your nose, etc.) We can see you!
- Be aware of what is behind you and on camera. Position yourself so that most of the light is coming from in front of you(behind your monitor), instead of behind you.
Consider getting together in person with other Pink Sisters to attend the Virtual Cruise!
- Depending on your time zone, what about a sleepover or pajama party? How about a picnic in the park (BYO Wi-Fi!)? Do you have a comfortable living room or backyard patio/swimming pool?
- If you’re gathering together, have everyone pitch in on the food, drink, and decorations. Pick a theme: Nautical? Beach? Luau? Tropical? Tiki party? Pinterest is your friend!
Get in the mood by dressing in your favorite cruise wear!
- Consider Hawaiian shirts, tie-dyes, beach wear, leis, coconut bras, grass skirts, bathing suits—whatever is going to make you feel like you’re going on a four-hour vacation!
Prepare your cruise snacks/food/drinks in advance!
- What would you enjoy on a cruise? Your time zone may dictate the types of food and drink you have, but here are some ideas.
- Caribbean chicken salad, shrimp tacos, fruit smoothies, crab salad lettuce cups, fruit kabobs, tropical chicken skewers, chocolate lava cakes, pina colada bars, whatever you’d like! But don’t forget the umbrellas for your cocktails/mocktails!
Use music to set the mood!
- The Love Boat Theme, Come Sail Away, Margaritaville, Kokomo, The Pina Colada Song, Sailing, etc.
